John the Blind of Luxemburg (German: Johann der Blinde von Luxemburg; Czech: Jan Lucemburský; August 10, 1296August 26, 1346) was King of Bohemia and Count of Luxemburg. He was the eldest son of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry VII of Luxembourg and his wife Margaret of Brabant.

In 1310 John married Elizabeth of Bohemia and thereby became king of Bohemia and so one of the seven electors of the Holy Roman Empire. He retained his crown even after her death in 1330. He then married Beatrix, daughter of Louis I, Duke of Bourbon.

He was killed fighting (though blind!) alongside the French against the English at the Battle of Crecy, and was succeeded as king of Bohemia by his eldest son Charles (later Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor).

His children by Elizabeth of Bohemia were:

  • Margaret, (1313-1341), who married Henry Duke of Upper Bavaria

  • Bonne (1315-1349), who married John II of France

  • Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor (1316-1378), King of Bohemia

  • Otakar "Otto" (1318-1320), Prince of Bohemia

  • Anna (1319-1328), Princess of Bohemia, Twin of Elizabeth

  • Elizabeth (1319-1344), Twin of Anna, married Albert III, Duke of Austria

  • Jan Jindrich "John Henry" (1322-1375), margrave of Moravia
