fine silver | 14 mm | 1 g The Lands of the Bohemian Crown were flooded with low-quality foreign coins after the Hussite wars. The currency was stabilised during the period of the administrator and later king George of Podebrady. The town of Znojmo in the second half of the 15th century was one of the Moravian towns where the minting of municipal coins developed in full. Minting in Znojmo is confirmed by a privilege from George of Podebrady in 1462 where he prolongs by one year the minting of a municipal coin with the depiction of a plain eagle carrying a letter Z on a breast tablet. It is one of the most widely spread Moravian coins.
